Short Poem: The Forest and the Trees

The pine trees wave upon the hill
a rumour spreads from limb to bough;
and whispered as the air grows still,
they say a forest’s here, somehow.

No one believes the tale is true.
No room is found among the trees
where some great forest hides from view.
Only one distant sapling sees.
