Drabble: Hiding in the Dark

No one could dream anymore. We could not let them. He was in our dreams. At first we killed those who fell asleep, but we were losing too many people too quickly. Coffee and chocolate were running low. After three days, even I was beginning to fade in and out. Then we found the solution: Our eyes. If we tore them out, we couldn’t see our dreams, couldn’t see Him. It was the only solution. Some resisted, but they were on His side. Bullets were cheaper than surgery anyway. Now, no one will dream, and He will never come again.
