Poem: Along Life’s Way

The darkness lay before the man along the road he knew he had to walk.
He stared into that shadowed veil. Anon, to no one did he talk:
"What's now before will be behind whether I go or turn,
but I must go, or never know, will never learn,
what's hidden in the darkness of my path.
Should I now fear some unseen wrath
or cryptic terror yet untold?
I'll face the foe
and go."
