Finals approach
my brain is broke
does that rhyme?
Does this count as a rhyme?
What is happening?
Anyway. I’ve been meandering about writing a post tonight. I’ve got nothing. I’m tired. I want to go to bed.
I wrote this:
There’s an old story some tell ’bout a sailor, signs the ship’s charter,
But then I started wondering if sailors signed charters. I thought they signed something like a contract; but going to Google was a mistake because Google is right next to YouTube and suddenly an hour is gone.
Oh that’s right. I wrote a reflection for a class. I don’t know if it will make much sense out of context, but it’s better than nothing. Here’s a section of it:
One thing seems clear: The knowledge of Hebrew could work as an excellent hook. Whatever the situation, it seems clear that the sudden proclamation:
יְהוָה אוֹרִי וְיִשְׁעִי מִמִּי אִירָה
. . . a phrase which I think is now burned indelibly into my memory, will certainly gain the interest of others. (Unless I am at a Pentecostal Church; in such a case, sudden proclamations of strange syllables will not stand out.)
I was rather proud of that joke. Anyway, goodnight.
