Poem: Softly Time Kills

Silently the hourglass is turned
Only one grinning skull can see
Finality begins its slow ebb
Tick tock, the clock is winding down
Long are the chimes that ring out twelve
Your fate is the same as every man

To love is to live
I heard and believe
My love became hate
Everyone can see

Kings and knights are gone
Inside my mind they live
Lions and tigers are strong
Loving to take, not give
So all the world must end.
