Drabble: Dragon’s Dream

The ancient dragon shifted in the darkness below the world, half waking for a moment, a bleary eye the size of the moon peering into the fathomless shadows surrounding it. Soon, that glistening sphere closed, and the dragon rejoined its dream. He dreamed of the strange world which was built upon his grave, and the strange creatures the gods formed of clay which walked about on it. He dreamed also of the great chains which bound him in darkness. In his dreams, they were weakening; The clay creatures no longer understood, and they were listening to the whisperings of Zarth.
