Ramblings: Restless

It is a storming night, it’s been a storming day, and I, yes I, O weary soul, who’s long been gone, I long to go to sleep. O sleep, please take me quick here wrapped in fresh washed sheets. Please come for me, O singer of my dreams, and sing. Please sing for me.

I long to sleep through this night’s storm, and dream of other things than what I’ve dreamed before. Please let me sleep and sleep and sleep. Oh, how I long to sleep.

The night will pass, but let it pass without my watchful eye, and let me drift within this cozy room, and drift and drift and drift away.

O rumbling storm, beautiful storm, your roars will comfort me. Your rain, against the roof, let play a melody. And let your flashes in the night not flash too bright on me.

O sleep, why distant yet? Why far? I long for you. Return to me, return. Blessed of all comfort, please bring your sister, dream. I long to be asleep, and sleeping dream, and dream away the storms.

O sleep, O dream, O rest, why tarry far from me?
