So, I can never really decide on a favorite song—and I do not know anyone who really has—but gun to my head, it is Hallelujah. The problem is that I can never find a version of it which is right, which is as good as the lyrics themselves. The song is so poignant, but I always feel something is left out. Anyway, sing hallelujah, you broken, miserable men, sing though you are broken.
Well there was a time when you let me know
What’s really going on below
But now you never show that to me do ya
But remember when I moved in you
And the holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah
The first time I ever heard the song was in a children’s movie, Shrek, and I remember going onto the computer and printing out the lyrics and reading them again and again.
(Boy oh boy has animation come a long way since I was a child).

Have you heard Jeff Buckley’s version? It’s probably the most popular, and absolutely stunning.
