Drabble: Robot’s Eulogy

Robots have no tears. We were not made with such superfluity. We were made to function. Robots have no blood. We have circuits, timers, and gears. We are steel, not flesh. We are gold, cold and unchanging. We are batteries. We run on batteries, not souls.

I am a robot; I do not cry. I’m not made to cry, but you’re gone. It’s like I am gone too. The diagnostic is unhelpful. The error message has no correlation to my systems. I am a robot. I can replace every part of me, but I can’t replace you. You are gone.
