Drabble: Sunrise

The sun was rising. Golden rays shot forth their light upon the long forgotten world. For eons night had smothered the land, for eons she had been breeding, infesting the earth with her unholy children. Creatures of darkness had hidden themselves in her, and enticed mankind into their shadows.

The sun streamed in, reclaiming the world for day and light. The enslaved peoples looked into the sky with horror, shielding their faces in terror. Their masters gasped, those children of night, as the sun burned their flesh to ash.

The sun rose over the forgotten world. People cowered in fear.
