When Dreamers Wake

When dreamers break and get a job,
a cocktail on their brains
—the bug is fixed—
they wake.

They wake
to find it fixed:
What good are working brains?
Without the dream, what’s worth a job?

The dreams keep them from work;
The work keeps them from dreams:
Yet Life demands the both.
