Oh America,
We say we are for women’s rights,
yet we end the lives of unborn girls when they are the undesired gender.
We say women should have a choice,
yet we ignore women who have that choice taken from them by family, boyfriends, and traffickers.
We say capital punishment is too harsh even for terrorists,
but we’ll sentence a child to death for the father’s crimes,
or for being disabled.
We go to great expense to preserve wildlife,
but sell our own children for parts.
We say we are helping women,
but we stand by when Planned Parenthood crushes any woman who dares to leave its employment and defy it.
We say it’s safe,
and we cover up stories of botched procedures that leave women permanently injured or infertile.
We say Black Lives Matter,
and ignore Margaret Sanger’s ambition to create a master race without them.
We say never again,
but the death toll has far exceeded the Holocaust.
We say we’re nothing like the Nazis
but we’ll recommend if the baby might be malformed.
We kill the most innocent and vulnerable in our society with acid and scissors,
and we call them inhuman.
We say we are progressive.
We are no better than our ancestors.
