Happy Fourth of July, eat, drink, and be merry. But take a moment to recognize the wonderful truth set down in the Declaration of Independence. No, I’m not talking about the map Nicolas Cage discovered, I’m talking about the source of rights.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
Rights come not from Kings or governments, though those entities should help secure our freedoms, but from the one source of all good. These United States have been honored to be a beacon of individual liberty, and that comes from the recognition that in the eyes of God all men are equal. This Nation’s founding was a miracle, a blessing to the world.
Enough said, let’s eat.
